The Audio Volume Meter shows you in real time how loud your microphone or system sound is when it reaches Bliro which helps you ensure that your microphone is working correctly. It is important that your microphone is working correctly in order for Bliro to write accurate transcripts.
If the volume display is very low or does not react at all, here you will find all important information on how it works and how to fix the issue.
How does the Audio Volume Meter work?
The Volume Meter visualizes:
Microphone signals (your voice)
System sounds (e.g., notifications, music, Teams sounds)
System sounds are usually detected very clearly, while microphone inputs can appear significantly weaker depending on the device and settings.
Common issue: Voice volume barely visible
If normal speaking produces little or no peaks, this means that you should check you operating system settings.
Step-by-step troubleshooting
1. Check the selected audio source
the right audio source should be selected by Bliro which means that you do not have to select anything (e.g.: if you use headphone, your headphones should get selected as the audio source)
if the correct audio source does not get selected automatically please report your issue by sending logs (send logs artice verlinken)
2. Increase microphone volume in the operating system
macOS
Open System Settings → Sound → Input
Go to Audio Input
Increase the input level
Speak and check if the level responds
windows
Open Settings → System → Audio
Go to Audio Input
Set the volume slider to 100%
Speak and check if the level responds
Experiencing low audio meter peaks when you are speaking does not affect transcription quality. However, audio meter shows clearly that Bliro can take notes for what you discuss in your meetings. It also indicates that others in the meeting can hear you well. Therefore it is good practice to make sure auto meter works properly.
